VOL 5. Canada vs. New Zealand: Hand 'em in! Banning guns will make us safer.
Time & Location
About the Event
NEW ZEALAND TIME / DATE: Wednesday, June 24 @ 11:00am.
Less than a month after the 2019 Christchurch attack, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and her government outlawed most automatic and semi-automatic weapons as well as components to modify existing weapons. Similary, following the Nova Scotia attacks, the Government of Canada and PM Justin Trudeau have prohibited over 1,500 models of assault-style firearms and certain components of some newly prohibited firearms (the upper receivers of M16, AR-10, AR-15, and M4 patterns of firearms).
For anti-gun groups in Canada and in NZ, this is a good start. For legal gun owners and gun-rights advocacy organizations, many questions have been left unanswered.
What do you think? Will the prohibition of firearms make us safer?
Affirmative to the resolution is Hera Cook.
Negative to the resolution is Tracey Wilson.
