About the Event

‘Deplatforming’ (also known as ‘no platform’) has become a prominent issue in relation to free speech.

Should we defend the free speech of everyone — extremists included?

Critics would argue that social media bans, videos pulled from Youtube, and speakers banned from speaking on campuses amount to censorship and nothing less than an infringement on free speech.

Are they right? Or when has somebody gone too far?

In this debate, we'll hear from both sides of the coin.

Affirmative to the resolution is Irfan Chaudhry.

Negative to the resolution is Derek Fildebrandt.
